  • Silk banners at Crane Estate Art Show, The Trustees of Reservations, November 2012
  • Three banners exhibited at Crane Estate Art Show, The Trustees of Reservations, November 2013 to show the results of climate change on Cape Ann’s landscape: native Sumac being engulfed by invasive kudzu; a house atop a sand dune falling into the water as a result of sea level rise, and a marshland becoming eroded as a result of sea level rise and intense coastal storms.

Climate Change & Landscapes of Essex County

I weave together my expertise in planning and landscape design with my silk paintings. My focus is climate change vulnerability and adaptation. I created banners which are up to 10' in length, that include silk painting and photography, on Climate Change and the Landscapes of Essex County. The banners have been exhibited by several North Shore environmental and arts organizations, including The Trustees of Reservations and the Marblehead Arts Association. In 2015 I created an outdoor exhibit on Climate Change and the Great Marsh, which has been shown at Greenbelt’s Cox Reservation in Essex, MA, and at Rough Meadows Wildlife Sanctuary in Rowley, MA. I am currently collaborating with photographer Les Bartlett to create an exhibit on Climate Change and the Salem Maritime National Historic Site, to be shown at the National Park Service’s Salem Visitor Center in 2016. I paint silk paintings and silk wearables including capes and ponchos, illustrating the effects of climate change on our oceans, cities and landscapes..
