Gyre

“Gyre” represents one of the five enormous gyres of trash in our oceans. As climate change leads to increasingly ferocious storms, tsunamis and hurricanes, pelagic plastics, chemical sludge and debris from the land are swept into the ocean. The gyres are sometimes hundreds of miles wide, and are often hard to see with the naked eye since many of the plastics break down into tiny particles.
